Launch of Peaceful Tomorrows, February 14, 2002

On the morning of February 14, 2002 we activated our web site and in a press conference at the UN Church Center announced the creation of September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows. During our remarks, we held up a large Valentine card with a letter that would be sent to President Bush asking him to “have a heart” and support the creation of an Afghan victim’s fund. Peaceful Tomorrows was born with the fiscal sponsorship of the Fellowship of Reconciliation - USA and the support of the American Friends Service Committee and Hague Appeal for Peace.

Peaceful Tomorrows receives no money from 9/11 charities or disbursements. We depend entirely on individual and foundation grants to continue our work. More.
